Hello! I have a couple of questions regarding iCloud/Messages.
Here's my situation: I have iCloud usage for Messages turned off across all my devices (iPhone, Mac, iPad).
I still get messages on all devices, which is good. I assume that's how it's supposed to be because they all have the Messages app - so when someone sends me a message, the message is received by all devices. Is this assumption correct?
Do the individual devices store messages locally rather than on iCloud?
How does a device that was turned off still sync and display recent messages if they're not stored in iCloud?
My iCloud Drive says that I have over 700MB of messages on it.
Can I see those somehow? If the above assumption is correct, I would guess that those are there because I didn't disable iCloud usage right away when I got my iPhone.
The reason I'm asking is that I would like to "reclaim" that storage but I'm somewhat worried about losing potentially important messages.
