total number of cores: 2
L2 Cache: 4 MB
Memory: 1 GB
Bus Speed: 667 MHz

Memory slot: Bank 0/Dimm0

Type: DDR2 SDRAM
Speed: 667 MHZ

Memory slot: Bank 1/Dimm1
Size: 512MB
Type: DDR2 SDRAM
Speed: 667 MHZ

Anyone help me please?

Article on mac which i got confused on:

imac (late 2006 17 in) http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=304284
(17-inch Late 2006 CD) http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=303085

Any help please?

I believe you are the later model. Since you have a Core 2 Duo (C2D) instead of the Core Duo (CD) you should be able to figure out your RAM needs. I say max the machine out. Later on down the line you'll agree it was worth the extra $$$.

I am no expert, but I believe the second one is yours. The first one says its a Core Duo, and you have a core 2 duo, so it can't be the first one.

don't quote me tho, wait for someone else to confirm.
