Questions about true to life coloring on Apple screens.

I've been debating about my upcoming Apple purchase. I will most likely get a 20" Intel iMac and then one of the reduced G4 Powerbooks or wait for an Intel Macbook (iBook) or Tablet (here's hoping), for portability. Anyway, here's my question(s)

Does the Intel iMac have better true to life color matching than the MacBook Pro?

I currently have the 20" Cinema Display (purchased in august, so I think it's the HD one). Would that represent true to life color matching any better than a new Intel iMac?

It's mostly all Photoshop, color matching skin tones, etc. and having them print out as I see them on the screen. I currently have the problem of needing to make everything brighter on the file, because my Epson R800 prints out darker than what is rendered on the screen.

Or, if you have a better suggestion for a Mac-Printer setup (printer needs to have as good or better than R800 resolution), please feel free to suggest.

From what I've heard and seen the Intel iMac screen is gorgeously bright and sharp - you'd need to get a proper calibration device if you want to do colour proofing.

The 20" ACD you have is not HD. Only the 23" and 30" are HD screens with vertical resolutions of more than 1080 pixels. The 20" screen is only 1050 pixels high so is not a "true" HD screen although it can display 720p videos at their full size, just not 1080x1920 videos.

I can confirm this. We got one the other day and it is amazingly bright. My PB screen looks quite dull in comparison.
