Questions from a Switcher on new MBP

Hello. I just switched and received my new MBP this week. I really like the machine and have a few questions.

1) I noticed the strip of metal just above the slot drive opening is slightly bent downward causing a small gap between the gray plastic corner strip and the front surface. Its more cosmetic than anything, but it does bother me that my new MBP isn't perfect. Is this something that is common and can Apple fix it in the store? I don't believe I did anything to cause this since I've only had the machine for 2 days and have been very careful with it.

2) Is it typical for the top cover to jump up when the button is pushed to release it? I don't recall this when seeing units in the store. Also, each front corner sticks up causing a gap. Is this something that I should have Apple check out?

3) Can Apple make slight adjustments to the keyboard and trackpad button at the store. The keyboard appears slightly curved up on the left side and the track pad button seams loose on the left hand side.

4) I have read a number of threads regarding backlight bleeding. What is it and how do I check for it?

5) Are there any good books or on line resources which can help me learn OSX?

In general I think the screen looks great and don't notice the yellowing that some people have mentioned. Thank you for your comments to my questions above.

you have a macbook pro that is badly assembled. Take it back to the store and ask for a replacement.

I purchased this on-line (Amazon). Would Apple replace the unit or do I need to go back to Amazon? My concern about returning the unit is needing to wait for another unit and having issues with screen.

Another question. I noticed people were talking about dead pixels. What is the best way to check for them?

I don't have that on my MacBook Pro, although there is a gap between the grey strip and the casing on my MacBook Pro, nothing is perfect.

It's normal for the LCD to jump up when the button is pressed. The front corners sticking up is case warping, that's normal too, you get used to it after a while.

Mine has similar symptoms.

4) I have read a number of threads regarding backlight bleeding. What is it and how do I check for it?

Put an image that is all white, or all black and look to see if it is uniform or not, if not then you have some backlight bleeding.

5) Are there any good books or on line resources which can help me learn OSX?
