Had an unexpected catastrophe today. Went to update from 12.1 to 12.2 to find that my 2015 MacBook Air did not have enough memory to hold it. So I called AppleCare Assistance. The rep "solved" my memory problem by having me delete some movies to free up space. But now I am left with a number of questions. For background, I have a WD My Passport doing Time Machine, I synch to iCloud, and I just got a Samsung SSD for Carbon Copy Cloner which I started using for backups. Now for questions, when I delete a photos/movie from my Mac, does that action also delete it from iCloud? When I delete it from Photos does that also mean it will disappear from Time Machine when next I back up because it is no longer on my WD hard drive? Will Carbon Copy Cloner also delete it the next time I run a backup? If these actions do delete it, how do I save it? Am sure the answer there is to back up the Photos Library (or wherever it exists) onto a another backup drive. Forgetting my Samsung SSD so far dedicated to CCC, if I back it up to another drive like a memory stick, how do I use the Photo App's tool/system to search, edit, etc the photos I have stored on it? If these are all too much to answer easily, I would certainly welcome a link to something on YouTube that would explain this all to me. Thanks!!
