Hi,

Ive read the thread so know my options for unlocking a 1.1.4 otb iphone.

My question is , i want to use my iphone on o2 payg. Do i still need to "unlock" it as its still o2?

Also, any idea when pwnage will be available for windows as i dont like the sound of ziphone if it gives wifi problems.

Matt :)

Yes you still have to unlock the phone if you get a PAYG O2 sim. It will only accept a contrat O2 sim, any other sim and the phone needs to be unlocked.

Pwnage is available for windows now but it is a BETA so it does not have all the feature of the Mac version but it will unlock & jailbreak your phone.

Another program you could use is ILiberty+.

Hi,

Thanks for the reply. I have looked at iliberty but was told by somebody it can screw the iphone up so use pwnage.

As long as it unlocks it to be honest i dont care which program i use. Have you any experience of any?

Matt

I unlocked and jailbroke my UK phone with iPlus 2.0b, and run an O2 Simplicity 30 day contract, everything works just fine. First few days I ran on Tesco PAYG without any problems.

I chose to use iPlus because no-one was reporting any problems with it and it makes the process really easy, it even puts installer and some popular sources on the phone for you.

Well i personally used Pwnage but I am on a mac and it was very easy to do and I know have a nice custom load screen and a custom restore screen lol.

As far as i know Iliberty is better to use than Ziphone as it does the jailbreak then the unlock unlike ziphone. If you really want to use Pwnage I think the only thing you need to do if your on windows is find a mac user who can make up your custom firmware. If you know a way to transfer a 170mb file I can get you the custom firmware mate. Then I would have a really good read of the sticky in the hacks and apps thread.
