a friend of mine had a cheating girlfriend and she wants her ipod back, but he doesnt want to give it back without a price. she's leaving for a plane ride and he's on his way to give the opod back right now.

what i need to know is if there is any way at all to remove all songs off the ipod without hooking it up to a computer?

theres a hard reset, but that wont clean the library.

help me out here asap!
thanks

Ok, really. I don't know if there is a option in the diagnostic menu but you could look around in there. You could really screw up the iPod too. Maybe, I'm not sure.

Press Menu & Select at the same time and hold it until the ipod reset.
When the Apple logo comes up on the screen press and hold Select & Rewind.

Now your in the diagnostic mode. Look around in there.

I looked around in my ipod for some clear option but I don't see one. Sorry. Maybe you can run a diagnostic and then she won't know how to get out of it... that will teach her!

If you:

Press Menu & Select at the same time and hold it until the ipod reset.
When the Apple logo comes up on the screen press and hold Select & Play.

it will says "Ok to disconnect" with a check mark and it will stay on that screen until you reset it with a Menu & Select. If she doesn't know how to do that. That will teach her!

well, an update :

being unable to remove the music, said friend went to the volume control and brought the volume down to the very lowest possible and then set the combination. she devil wont be able to hear anything on the ipod until she hooks it up to a computer (which, for some reason she does not have) and fixes it there.

it's the best he could do without a computer.

serves the cheater right.

thanks for your replies!
