Hey, I've never had any Apple product before in my life, so this may be a dumb question. Be gentle, please.

Sometimes, I get rather risque photos sent to me by my girlfriend. I want to save these photos on my phone, obviously, but they're just out there in the open on my Camera Roll. Is there a way I can take those photos and put them into a folder on my phone that can be locked or something? The cell phone I had in Japan had a data folder I could do this with.

Thanks for the help!

You can add them to iPhoto and import that way but there's no real protection for them. On behalf of the dudes here ... can you post an example and maybe they can help you?

If you jailbreak your phone, you can download mAdvLock which allows you to set passcodes on any application, including Photos and Camera (which you can access the camera roll with.)

How are you saving the photos that are being sent to you in your camera roll. Just taking screenshots?

Check out the App Store. There are a couple of apps available under Photography that have the required feature.

I recommend Video Safe. It password protect your girlfriend's nice videos as well as pictures.

Apps like fileaid will let you do it but you'll have to transfer them to a computer first then transfer them back. It's a hassle but it works and you can password protect the app.

There are several apps that allow for password protected and encrypted storage. One is Photo Vault. There are others in the App Store. In fact, when I searched the App Store for Photo Vault, several other options came up too.
