Quick help! Stuck screw....

Hi there

My macbook pro hard drive is about to fail I think. It's 3 weeks outa warranty (typical!), so i'm replacing the hard drive myself using some instructions on extrememac. I've taken out all but one of the case screws, but the last one is stuck. Won't budge. I'm worried I'll end up blunting the end of it.

Anyone got any easy solutions for freeing the stuck screw?

Drill it out, or super glue something like a paperclip to it and rip it out.

Then order some replacement screws from ifixit.com or something.

Thanks. Are there any less destructive ways? Like, you know, breathing on it while sniffing turps or something?

I had a stuck screw on my Powerbook. Since it's on the outside of the case, you can use the case to press harder. You may need a higher quality screw driver so it won't strip. Just press firmly on the other side of the case and while pressing hard turn the screw very slow to prevent stripping. This workd for me. There are things like lock tight that you can put on the screw head. This will help prevent slip.

I would not drill it out unless it is stripped.

Thanks. A more 'robust' grip on the case, and a rag to give a better grip on the screwdriver, and it turned.

stupid apple stripped out two of the three screws on the bottom of the old G5 imac i had then woulnt fix it cause they said I did it
