Hey all,
So I'm about to buy the 160gig Apple TV but I have a few questions which I'd appreciate some answers to. I've now been to the mac store twice and have asked the staff there these same questions and sadly none of the floor employees knew any of the answers :(

Here's my situation:
I'm a college student home for the summer. Here at home I have a 60" HDTV which I want to hookup the Apple TV too. However, our house uses a wired-internet network and there is No internet connection in the TV room, however I want the AppleTV to hookup to that TV.

So thats the home issue. I then in August am moving back to college and where I live there we also have an HDTV with internet access in the same room which I want to hook up my AppleTV to when I move back there.

Ok, now the questions:
1. If I buy an AppleTV, can I bring the AppleTV upstairs to my computer, hook it up to my network, sync my Itunes Music + Photos + videos (totaling right now around 100 gigs) and sync that to the AppleTV, then can I disconnect the Apple TV and bring it downstairs, and hook it up to my TV there (with no internet) and be able to play all of my Itunes Files that I have put on its HD (of course no YouTube or streaming or anything). But will that work? syncing it on a computer, and then disconnecting the internet and connecting it to a TV?

2. Will I then be able to take the AppleTV to my college place and hook it up to my internet and TV there (if its the same Itunes computer its syncing from etc)?

Sorry for the long post, but I'd appreciate any help since the Apple Employees didnt seem to know about how to "use" the apple TV, just how to sell it and hook it up.

Thank you!

Short and sweet .. Yes and Yes. You will be able to easily do what you want to do. As you said of course you will not have access to streaming, you tube and top tens on itunes. This will indeed work though.

Good Luck

Kevin
