probably this question will be noob-city, but whatever... i'm just curious. for word processing apps, or even that built-in Contacts app, are all the user input strings saved in the apps .plist file? are .plist files even apart of iPhone development? basically i'd like to how how textual content is saved with iPhone apps, or what is the best way of doing so?

I imagine it depends on the application. The Contacts are saved in the system wide contacts database as accessed by the Address Book framework. I imagine text files are saved simply as that, there would be no reason to save that as part of the user preferences via NSUserDefaults.

Oh, and there is an iPhone Programming Forum for all iPhone programming questions and discussion.
