Did a few searches and have read some for the last 2 hours on a few sites. Couldn't find this question answered even though I am guessing it has been asked/answered a ton of times. Sorry for my bad search skills.

Thinking of getting my first iphone here. I am currently an ATT customer for wireless (no data). Can I buy an iphone and use my existing ATT SIM....to get all the benefits of an iphone without a data plan? Thanks.

I believe there is an option to disable automatic data usage (for international roamers).

I am an AT&T customer, and I use my old SIM card so that I don't have to sign a 2-year contract. If you want to get data under this you'll just need to call AT&T and tell them that you've got a blackberry and want unlimited data, it will cost $15 or $20 a month (can't remember, but it is about the same as if you were on a contract).

I hate you guys -.-

jk, but im sad.

I signed my two year extension before I knew anything about jailbreaking :/

No. You have to activate the SIM that comes in the iPhone. There used to be a way to get the plan without data but you can't anymore.

What's the point of getting an iPhone anyway if you're not going to get internet access?

I guess I am still unsure as to the answer. I do not want to use the iphone with a data plan (i just want to use it with wifi) and as a phone. My existing RAZR plan is wireless only. Can I use the SIM from my RAZR in an unlocked iphone?

Sure, you can jailbreak and unlock your phone and use any sim you want to. It should be obvious that without a data plan you'll have to use WiFi to do a lot of things. The locate me function in Maps will not work (WiFi connection or not) without a workaround. Visual Voicemail only works if you get AT&T to turn it on for you, but they probably won't unless you get an iPhone plan.

A little searching will tell you how to unlock, jailbreak and activate. The ZiPhone method is very popular now and quite easy. The maps workaround requires installing Navizon and running it each time you reboot the phone.
