Hey guys,

Usually I don't do this for my macs but I thought I would try it on my MacPro.

I'm planning on selling my 2010 mac pro in the next few days probably threw Craigslist. I wanted to see if you guys could give me a rough price I should sell it for.

Specs:

2010 MacPro
3.33 Hex
16gb Ram
256SSD + 3tb Barracuda drive
GTX 670 2gb with custom three fan cooler.
Has Apple care until the end of the year.

I will throw in the 5770 ATi card in the sale as well.

It's in very good condition and I usually blow the dust out ever few months.

Thanks for your help!

Johno

Generally the past listings I see for this model is around $2k -$2300 not counting having an extra GPU and SSD. Maybe you can price it a bit higher since the machine still has AppleCare.

I'm looking into buying a Mac Pro. I was looking into refurb models since I don't like the trashcan model!

I'm currently not in US but I will be back in August and hopefully if you have it by then, I might buy yours. Is your GTX 670 the gigabyte model or is it an evga?

is it this one??

I don't think I will have it as I plan on selling it in the next few weeks but maybe... It's a evga with Arctic 3 fan cooler. The stock cooler is sooo loud and the Arctic silent 3 fan keeps it quite and really cool under load. The expansion bay fan is the loudest thing in the machine.

Oh ok... well let me know when you are about to sell it. To help you with pricing, you can get the Refurb quad core for about 2300 including tax!

Now you do have a 6 core which is a lot better, a lot more ram and way better graphics, but it doesn't have the warranty that apple has. So I think you could sell it around 2500-2600??

I was checking ebay and I saw this, it's identical to yours except the 670, so maybe add a 100-200$ to it if you're not including the original HD5770, if you are then you can increase it more.

There's also this guy but i think he is selling it at a way lower price.. it has ssd and that price? maybe sth is wrong with it!!

You can build a Mac Pro from parts with those specs for $1,600 so his price is fine. Yeah you can try get a higher price and someone might pay it, but some people price more reasonably. There are many Mac Pros that go unsold as they are priced too high on eBay.

BigJohno,

Price to build what you have from eBay is around $1,800, but your 1 year AppleCare adds decent value to it. I'd put it out there for $2,500 and try get $2,100 for it when the haggling comes, using the Radeon 5770 for leverage.

Obviously be careful if you haven't sold high priced items through craigslist before. See if your local law enforcement offer anything where you can do the trade.
