Will the Apple TV allow me to stream the videos on my computer to my television? This may be an idiotic question but Apple doesn't mention this specifically anywhere on their site, it simply talks about your iTunes collection which is very vague. I'd love to get one of these since their so sleek but if they can't do this I'll just have to use my PS3.

Also, when I say videos, I do mean a multitude of formats as well like MKV, MP4 etc. Thanks.

Yes, the :apple:TV will let you do this given you've got your movie library in iTunes (if it plays in iTunes it will be in the correct format to play on :apple:TV).

And you've got wifi.

Not all formats though.

See the video specs below. I think you'll find them a bit restrictive.

H.264 video up to 720p, 30 frames per second, Main Profile level 3.1 with AAC-LC audio up to 160Kbps per channel, 48kHz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4 and .mov file formats
MPEG-4 video, up to 2.5Mbps, 640x480 pixels, 30 frames per second, Simple Profile with AAC-LC audio up to 160Kbps, 48kHz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4 and .mov file formats
Motion JPEG (M-JPEG) up to 35Mbps, 1280x720 pixels, 30 frames per second, audio in ulaw, PCM stereo audio in .avi file format

I purchased my ATV yesterday and can't be more excited. I previously was running VLC off an Svideo connection. I was using AVI files and loved the quality. I converted an AVI to an MP4 and put it in my itunes but the quality through ATV was extremely disappointing. Would you recommend one of the above file formats instead of MP4 to preserve the high video quality? I delete the files after watching, so size is not an issue. Appreciate the help!
