I am getting my 3G S today in the mail and was wondering how to do the switch from my 3G.

I want the 3G S to be setup exactly as my 3G is and most importantly not lose any of the contacts or SMS conversations.

What is the best way to do this, thanks.

Just sync your 3G one last time so you have a recent backup. Connect your 3GS and follow the prompts. When it asks you if you want to set it up a new phone or restore from backup (can't remember the exact wording), select the restore from backup option and select the backup you just made.

When i restored from backup i lost my voice memos app. So i had to restore again as new and just sync all my contacts and pics from google and mobileme.
