I just have a quick question:

I was just wondering what you guys out there use to view stats about your processor speed, heat, or whatever, as well as how and what you use to overclock a processor.

Thanks

I don't really like that website, I don't know why. :p

Can you throw out names of programs, or whatever? I can do the rest.
Thanks

For CPU processing, unless you already use an upgrade I'm unaware of any overclocking software; all the overclocking I've done has been hardware (dip switches, soldering, that sort of thing). I know that you can mess with the speeds of earlier Sonnet upgrades using their plug-ins, but I don't suggest trying them with a stock processor (if they'd even work).

If you have an ATI graphics card, you can overclock it on the fly with ATIcelerator II. For Nvidia, you'll have to mod the ROM and flash it.

As far as I know, you can't overclock RAM, and you can only overclock the bus on certain computers (and it almost always requires micro-soldering).

What are you trying to overclock and why?

Like it or not, that website is just about the defacto standard for modding/oc'ing/upgrading/troubleshooting macs, at least ones prior to the G5's anyways........

Surely there are others, but xlr8 is 1 of the BEST :)

If you will specify which machine/cpu/video card ect that you want info on, surely someone here has "been there, done that"......
