So i have jailbroken my 32gb 3gs and now when i hook it up to itunes it asks if i want to restore from a previous backup (witch would undo the JB im quessing) or set as a new phone? Will i loose my old back up if i select new phone? And will i use another allowed computer onto this phone? im a newbie and former pc runner so dont burn me to bad, i assume slect new phone right?

Any time you restore it will ask you that, doing either won't re-restore your phone. Setting up as new will get rid of all the application-specific info (like saved games) on your phone, but its all on your computer.

If you want to keep all your info, but set up as a new phone use these instructions.

I used them when I had my phone replaced under warranty. It let me set up as new, which is always preferable while keeping my info like game levels, map bookmarks, texts, safari bookmarks, etc.

If u restore from backup u won't lose your jailbreak or anything. It will just sync back your previous settings leaving cydia and everything else alone.
Wouldn't he lose all his contacts if he sets it up as new phone?
