I know that you can obtain an URL for an app to be released before it's available in the App Store, but what exactly do you need to do in order to get this URL (i.e., do you need to request it specifically, or is it automatically available upon approval, etc.)? I would like to be more specific to provide guidance to someone about getting their app's URL before release but I'm not a dev and don't have access to the dev center to find out myself directly. Any help would be greatly appreciated! :)

I don't think this is possible. I don't see why apple would provide a link to an app that hasn't been released
Edit: Do you mean getting your app hosted outside the app store?

Thanks for the response. I have seen it - I have personally received links from devs saying "this will be the App Store URL when it goes live." This must be after the app has been approved and the dev has scheduled the release for a specific date. I just don't know *how* they obtain this URL and would like to know. :)

ive only release one app so far but i believe when you submit the app for approval, while its pending you get the links/etc so your marketing/links are all set for on acceptance.

Well, once an app has been approved there is a link to it, but until then its not on the app store, so theres no link to it on the app store. Also, developers can't schedule there release date (as far as I know), the apps just go on the store once they get approved by apple.

i think the only thing in terms of scheduling is putting a date to be delivered by, if its approved before the date its pended for you to release.

Thank you! Where (I don't know the tool devs use to submit and see the link) do you look to find the link? I'm just trying to get a sense of this so I can give some guidance to someone on how to find this. :)

That makes sense. Thanks again!

Actually, it's pretty easy to link to an app nowadays. Just use: http://itunes.com/app/AppName

Right, thats after its in the store. Now that I think about it, I suppose if you're sure of the name of your app, you can predict what the link is going to be when the app is released.

Yes, you can schedule a release date, using the Availability Date setting in the Pricing tab of your app's settings in iTunes Connect.

Never knew that! I'll keep that in mind!
