Quick question on future purchase

Hi,
I'm looking a nice new 27" iMac, i7, 8GB RAM, everything I should need :)
I'm wanting to play my Xbox 360 and PS3 through it, and I've seen that there are multiple options. The "Belkin AV360 HDMI-to-Mini DisplayPort Converter" only seems to go to 720p, and my TV is 1080i.
I'm looking for a converter that fills the following spec:
Is available in the UK
Supports full 1080p (As I'm sure the 27" iMac supports)
Doesn't cut part of the screen (I know the iMac is 16:9, which my TV is, so I don't want any black lines etc)

One last question; Screenburn.
Do iMacs et screenburn? I've left my MacBook Pro on for hours and not got screen burn, but my TV gets it now after only around 10 minutes (It's terrible, a still image was left on it for around 8 hours) I'll be playing games such as Fallout with static HUDs for sometimes hours, so I need to know it'll be OK!

Plasma TVs suffer from screenburns but LCDs don't have as big issue with it. I get some image persistence (i.e. burn-ins) in my iMac (24") so I wouldn't leave it on if you aren't using it. You can set the display to go to sleep after e.g. 15minutes

I get the same image persistence with my 24" because I always have web pages open. What seems to fix it is hiding the web page when the computer sleeps. Hiding it by clicking Command H.

I love the look of that, although I can't find it in the UK. I'd also like to spend around £80 or less, I'll go to £100 if it's as good as the one mentioned above.
My TV is LCD, it's screenburn is horrible. Ill just make the display sleep and switch between inputs every hour or so. I'm assuming loading screens should also stop the screenburn, I just thought being a monitor, it might have some screenburn reducing technology or something xP

I suggest upgrading the ram yourself. You can get two 4 gig sticks for the price of upgrading from 8gigs at apple, giving you 12 gigs.

I forgot that upgrading includes the RAM already in the machine :p
I was looking at 8GB. £180 at Apple, £190 at Crucial. However, I forgot about the 4GB already installed, making it £95 :)
 
I'm looking at getting this for Christmas (I'm hoping there's not a "new" one soon after, I don't think I can ask for it after Christmas xP), so I'd like to start looking for the HDMI > Mini VGA now. Has anyone seen one of the good ones on eBay before, is it worth checking regularly?
I'm also worried about the GPU. It's a ATI Radeon HD 5750 1GB GDDR5 SDRAM, and looking these up on Google, they seem to be "budget". Now I'm not looking for a gaming PC, but I'd like one that does things comfortably, and I'm worried that things like TF2 for Mac will be slower on the higher settings, even compared to my current MacBook Pro (See Sig.)
Any more help will be much appreciated! :D

I had a MBP like yours and sold it after 3 months for a newer unibody MBP with a 9600GT 512MB card. It was ok ish with most games.

I sold this and got a 21.5" iMac with a 4670 video card which was better than the MBP again.

Just brought a 27" iMac i5 with a 5750 1GB video card and still sat with my old 21" next to it

I have done loads and loads of testing. Just 5 minutes ago been playing flatout 2 demo on OSX on both iMacs

On native res both look great, but the game doesnt work on native res with the 27" so playing on 1920 x 1080 same as the 21"

Both looks fine

Then turned on AA x8 and the imac 21" started to drop frames. The 27 " was still flying

Basically the 5750 is good. But the screen is massive and sometimes to much. I'm thinking of getting a newer 21" with the newer video card and i5 3.6

But don't worry the 27" is a great

Thanks for the information, you've set my mind at rest! I know the resolution is a bit high, but if I really want to have a smaller display, I could get a 3D one ;) (This GPU supports 3D right?)
 
I'd also like to look at a Scart > iMac (Mini DVI?). I'd like to get a small Freeveiw tuner, and play my N64 (Don't care about the quality or black line xP)
I'f anyone has any information on a solution for this, also much appreciated! :)
