Quick question on iMac Pro

Can you boot an iMac Pro with a macOS or a Windows OS from an external USB SSD?

Yes. Booting to macOS from an external drive is super easy. Just use disk utility to wipe it and install the OS. So do you confirm that the T2 does allow it? I thought it was meant to avoid external boots.

You just have to change the security settings on the iMac Pro to allow external boots:

Just one thing to note, however, is that Windows installed on an external drive most probably would not be able to read the internal drive at all. This would not be an issue with macOS though.

Yea, not hard at all but definitely slower. I have do this now and then to do testing. Otherwise, I'd never boot from an internal into my iMP.
