I currently have an iPhonee 6S plus (always had a case on it). Looking to get a new iPhone, but doesn't have to be the latest and greatest. I have ~$100 from trading in 2 older apple products plus my current phone to trade in. Will the apple trade in toward a "new" (whether it is the newest or not) drop in value for my current phone if I wait for the next one to come out? I don't know that I would notice a huge difference between X, XS/R, or what is rumored to be coming out. Looking for advice from people who know more than me. Thanks.

My best suggestion would be to try to handle the newest iPhones and see what you think in terms of size. Functionality, they’re all very similar. Otherwise, if you think you be interested in the latest iPhones, then perhaps wait the three weeks to see what Apple has in store.

I'd wait the few weeks until the new phones are announced. If the new models aren't for you, the current models will see a discount which should negate any reduction in trade in value of your 6S Plus. Or even try and sell your 6S Plus privately. Like @Relentless Power said, go and check out the phones in person first to get an idea of what best suits your needs. Oh yeah, welcome by the way!
