Just a quick question

I'm buying a 160gb passport HDD for my macbook pro and wondered if its ok to leave it plugged into USB while the laptop sleeps or do i need to disconnect it everytime?

And also if i am swapping users do i need to unplug it sign on to next user and plug in HDD or can i leave it in?

Reason being I want it to be as simple to use as possible for the otherhalf and save faffing about with unplugging etc

Thanks

Most drives will go to sleep on their own, so you shouldn't have to worry about unplugging it when your system goes to sleep.

I don't see any reason to unplug the drive when you switch users, either. :)
