Can the Apple TV stream music and photos? I know it can stream movies but wondered if it can stream photos/music too.

Also. my movies are stored on an external drive on my media PC. I assume apple TV can stream from that? Will the streaming be ok or would it be better if the movies were on the actual PC?

It is my understanding that the only thing it cannot stream is photos.

Streaming from a "g" network ususally works fine. "N" is better.

My movies and TV shows live on an external, Airdisk drive, hooked up to my router. When I stream, my Mac pulls the movie from the remote Airdisk, then pushes back through the router and then to the Apple TV, all wirelessly, on an "N" network.

Prior to this, I had a "g" network, with a HDD hooked to my Mac, and it was sending the movie wirelessly to the Apple TV.

Both setups = no stutters.
