So I am on Verizon and am going to switch to ATT after I receive the iPhone. Now, tomorrow when I buy one, do I have to sign up to ATT there or anything o can I just buy it and wak out and do everything on iTunes at home? Also, I am pretty sure after I have cancelled my Verizon account, I will be able to switch my old number to the iPhone, correct? And will there be any way to view your plan online and the data, like how many texts/minutes you have left, etc? Thanks a lot

Just buy it and take it home. If you migrate your number over, it will cancel your verizon account

Everything will be done at home on iTunes. You will port your number from Verizon in iTunes. Do not cancel your verizon account before porting the number. Porting the number cancels your account. If you cancel before trying to port, it will not work as your number will have been already placed into a pool of numbers to be reassigned.

Yes but I will need to end my contract early, because my contract expires in August. I am also on a family plan, will this effect the others on the plan?

It shouldn't effect the others on the plan. And we know you need to end your contract early, porting your number through iTunes ends if FOR YOU. If you cancel your service before you setup your iPhone, you won't be able to port your number.

Just make sure on your family plan that the number you are planning to cancel is NOT the Primary number for the family share. On your bill, this number has a "(P)" next to it. If you cancel your primary number on your verizon bill you get charged more than just the early termination fee. So make sure first. And if that number is the primary, call Verizon and tell them you want to make a different number on the account the Primary.
