iPod quick question

when i first got my mac, i copied all my music from my pc to the music folder. from there iTunes imported it all and organized it. do i still need to keep the original file of can i just trash it? it seems like there is redundancy in files because there is a copy in the music folder, and a copy in the iTunes library folder.

I'm not sure but I think if it is in the iTunes folder then you shouldn't need to keep the other ones because it makes a copy in the format that iTunes uses. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

see that is kind of what i thought. but the files are still shown as mp3's in the iTunes music folder.

Yeah, I'm sure you can delete the other file since you copied it into iTunes,
