quick reformatting question.

I am going to sell my imac on ebay soon, and was wondering...

When I reformat my imac, all my information is erased right? Its not like a windows machine and there is still a way to get that information back right?

I know this sounds like a really dumb question. I just wanted to double check.

In Disk Utility you can Erase the drive using the Security Options.

Formating is formating. There's an equal chance of recovery on both file systems. (Yes, there is a possibly of file recovery from just one format, but it'll cost ya big time I imagine. The more times you write over the data, the less chance someone can get at it. Unless you're some secret spy or something, a simple format will suffice though.)

Yes, the new user will be presented with the same registration and setup information that you got when you opened the Mac the first time. That is if you install OS X after wiping in but don't enter any information. You can power down the machine after the opening video and it'll just boot back up right there.
