I have the option switched on in my "Touch and passcode" settings but I still have to either enter my passcode or use Touch ID when I want to quick reply a message on the home screen. Super annoying.
I've toggled it off and on and restarted my phone but if my phone is locked and I get a message it isn't allowing me to reply without going through these steps.

It almost seems to defeat the purpose of quick reply if I have to enter my password each time.

Do I have something setup wrong as this doesn't work the way it should or how it did in iOS 9??

Thanks in advance.

Do you have message previews enabled?

So the only way I can quick reply is to have message preview on now in iOS 10??

Can't I have message preview off but still be able to quick reply without having to enter my passcode or Touch ID every time??

Well it seems that the logic there comes down to how would you know what you are replying to if you are not allowing for the content of the message to be seen when the phone is locked.
