We have been running QB 2019 Desktop on Sonoma using an M1 MacBook Pro for the past few months without any issues.

This week (while still running on OS 14.4) out of nowhere it started some strange behavior ending in QB crashing consistently?

When adding a journal entry into ANY ledger, typing the first few letters of an entry finds the saved category in the drop down list, but then tabbing to the next field in the row no longer shows any text being typed into the new field while typing (blank field)? Tabbing to the next field again, the previous blank field does show the text we typed into that field? Going to the next row and starting typing crashes the program.

We have tried everything we can think of including upgrading to Sonoma 14.5, deleting all QB prefs, rebuilding and verifying database, booting to Safe Mode - nothing has worked.

Anyone else experiencing this and found a solution?

I believe "Official" support for QB 2019 ended with Monterey. If you dont want to pay the subscription, try using a virtual machine and run QB from it.

Seems obvious to me, but maybe not....

If you're not going to upgrade your software, don't upgrade your OS.

That does sound like a bug.

have you tried downgrading one of your machines to 14.3.1? You will need to reformat and reinstall. Or as someone suggested earlier, maybe run a VM with Monterey (Last official supposed version for this version of QB).

I have a low opinion of QB due to their constant upgrades, pricing and lock in. I could never recommend anyone use it. Better to investigate one of the open source ERP alternatives. Unfortunately, once you are in QB it is nearly impossible to get out. I am still running QB2012 with Wine ... there has been a lot of gymnastics to get it to continue to work over the years.
