Are there any alternatives to Quicken for basic personal account management?

I do not use it, but I've heard it's very good. I'm still using Quicken for some reason I can't explain.

Any reason you want to avoid Quicken?
You didn't say that you wanted a "free" alternative, so is it price?

I've tried Moneydance. While it looks good and seems to be well organized it isn't accurate with available balance when downloaded from my bank account. Download all your transactions and then compare it to your on-line bank account and, if you're like me, it will be off.

Thats why I switched from Quicken to Moneydance, because Quicken was off.

Moneydance is too.

Kinda makes using such a program pointless if you ask me. But at least Moneydance's interface doesn't make me feel homicidal.

I must be one of the lucky ones. I use Quicken for Mac 2005 (and previous versions) and don't have any issues. Sure, it's not perfect, but I don't get errors matching balances, it tracks multiple accounts, and easily handles the debit card transactions that are listed as addresses only (automatically categorizes them and assigns a known payee).

I like using it, and they keep sending me "free" upgrades because I use their bill pay service, which has also been very reliable for me.

I don't use Quicken to download account statements so that's not an issue for me. But does it allow you to download stock/mutual fund quotes?
