Quickest way to connect a bluetooth device

I recently bought a bluetooth speaker and was wondering if there is any quicker way to connect to it than every time going the settings->bluetooth->pair route. Since iOS makes Bluetooth accessible through the quickmenu, I do not understand how I can connect to any device without going trough the settings app. Am I simply too stupid or am I missing something?

Your Bluetooth speaker should connect to your iOS device automatically as soon as you turn the speaker on. It is required to go through the initial pairing sequence only the first time. My Bluetooth headphones as well as my Bluetooth speaker pair automatically every time. How about forgetting the device and pairing it all over again? Maybe that should do the trick.

Also, do you happen to connect the speaker to any other device as well? At times, certain Bluetooth "client" devices, once connected to a new device considers it as current and "forgets" previous device.

that's what I've been thinking too. but the speaker doesn't. it is capable of connecting and remembering multiple devices. Yesterday I connected my iPhone, then went out, left the speaker turned on, came back in and hit play on my iPhone, but there is no bluetooth device available from the quickmenu. I understand that when I switch back and forth from my laptop to my iPhone, that I have to reconnect the device trough settings.

I believe it's the Bluetooth speaker firmware then. It's upsetting how, certain technology advocating ease of use, end up doing exactly its opposite, due to a boggy implementation.

Not quite sure if that's the problem. Android devices and my MBP work flawless. It's only my iPhone which makes troubles. And not just with that speaker. It's with another one too. Maybe I'll set my iPhone up as new and see if that helps. Wish Apple would implement a Quickconnectionmenu just like Android has had it for years iOS 11 maybe...

Just that I'm not missing anything. If you enable bluetooth and the device you want to pair is on "search". You should be able to swipe up, and choose where the music should play?

If it doesn't connect automatically after a few seconds or so when you activated Bluetooth on both devices and the pairing didn't resolve it..

You could add the Bluetooth Setting to a Launcher widget like Launcher or Magic Launcher so it slightly saves you some time (in home screen of your device swipe left and select bluetooth). I also have it sometimes that after I turn on Bluetooth on my iPhone that it doesn't connect but then I manually select it and it's ok.
