I used Quickpwn (for Windows) to jailbreak my 3G last night, using the 2.2 version (as I had previously upgraded to the 2.2 firmware using iTunes).

At the end of the process, I received the screen that states "the jailbreak appears to be successful - please wait while your phone restarts to its newly modified state". My phone begins to reboot, but does not stop rebooting. It will eventually time itself out, flash a white screen, and then reboot again.

I have used Quickpwn before to jailbreak my phone when it had 2.1 firmware on it, so I know that this is abnormal. I downloaded the software directly from the iPhone Development Team website (blog.iphone-dev.org).

I had to restore my phone and use the backed up information to get running again. I want attempt this again, but don't want to have the same problems.

Does anyone have any solutions or suggestions on this matter? Thank you in advance for your response.

I would try again, as it could be something went wrong halfway through, such as (you didn't let go of the home/ON OFF switch at the correct times)

A lot of people seem to have an issue but then go back to restoring their iphone and trying again.

I don't know much about Quickpwn on Windows OS as I don't use it, but I am pretty sure it runs in much the same manner as Quickpwn for Mac OS X (which I have used)

If you still have the same problem I would ask in the forum again.

Sorry I can't be of more help.

Let us know if you are successful.

he's right, just restore back to a fresh 2.2 firmware(after you redownload the IPSW file), and then jailbreak it again
