Ok, I was hoping you guys could help me with this. My friend gave me his iPhone so I could jailbreak it for him, and so i did. (his iphone is plugged into my computer not his) and after I ran the QuickPwn program, the iphone started to restart, but it keeps showing the Apple Logo, vibrates 2 times, and restarts. It does this within a period of 10 minutes, and keeps doing it. Please help!

Dont Panic!

FIRST try connecting to iTunes when it first turns on and see if a normal restore is possible if not THEN hold down the home and power buttons next time it turns on and it should turn instantly off and then you can reboot it normally. Sounds like this phone was either unlocked or jailbroken before!

this happened to me.

you can try doing a hard reset by holding the home and power buttons for 10 seconds and letting go.

my iPhone wouldn't boot no matter what i did for about 30 minutes and i looked in MRoogle and found that hint!

those were the worst 30 mins of my recent life haha good luck! hope this helps!

I had the same problem and the post above didn't help but they're worth the try. I had to do a Recovery Mode Restore. Follow these instructions:

Recovery Mode Restore:
1) Hold Power and Home Buttons until screen goes completely black.
2) Open iTunes on your computer (Mac or PC)
3) Hold Home Button while you connect your iPhone to your computer via the USB cable.
4) A message in iTunes should appear after a few seconds saying something like, "An iPhone has been detected in Recovery Mode, it must be restored before it can be used in iTunes."

Hope this helps!

The iTunes thing with the restore didn't work, so I did this- *I held the home+power button while iphone was booting, screen goes off. i keep holding. screen comes on. i keep holding. screen goes off. i let go. now i press the power button 1 time and i let it boot.* Did i do it right? (As far as i know this iphone has not been unlocked or jailbroken before, this is the first time ive jailbroken it. I, myself has a Iphone 3G that is jailbroken, it worked sucessfully. All i remember doing is restarting it or something after the quickpwn, and it went to the home screen where i scrolled over and saw installer and cydia.

After i quickpwn it and its restarting, how long should it take to start and go to the home screen?

What did you do to "sucessfully jailbreak" it?

Note: Iv'e actually re-jailbroken the iphone 2 times now via QuickPwn

EDIT: his iphone is plugged into my itunes/computer. could it have something to do with that?

EDIT2 *NEED REPLY ASAP lol* His iphone is plugged into my computer, and itunes regonizes it, but it still restarts. When i plugged it in (into my comp not his) itunes said "Updates for the Carrier Settings are availble, would you like to update them?" I hit no. Should i have hit yes?

Forced iPhone 2G into Recovery Mode at Quickpwn Waiting to enter recovery screen

For anyone having the problem where QuickPwn gets stuck at the waiting to enter recovery mode screen I want to share a solution that worked for me.

Once QuickPwn gets to the screen where it is trying to enter recovery mode follow the steps below:

1. Disconnect iPhone from computer then hold down home and power button on iPhone until screen goes completely black.

2. Open iTunes on your computer

3. Hold down home button on iPhone while attaching to your computer via USB.

4. iTunes will start to recognize the device in Recovery Mode, do not click anything in iTunes just keep QuickPwn up on your screen.

5. Quickpwn now recognizes the iPhone in recovery mode and should proceed to step 1 of holding down home for 5 seconds and so on. Follow all instructions for Quickpwn to complete the jailbreak and unlock.

6. Do not click anything in iTunes and do not close iTunes until the iPhone is completely finished with entire flashing process.

7. Run task manager and end the iTunes process and make sure iTunes closes.

8. Disconnect your iPhone and you should be unlocked!

Hope this helps!
