ok i have a extra 733mhz quicksilver processor over clocked at 800mhz
can i use it in my sawtooth

any help is good

i think they're pin-compatible, but the quicksilvers used a 133mhz bus as opposed to the 100mhz in the sawtooth. a processor that ran at 733mhz (ignoring the overclocking) in a qs should run at about 550mhz, i think.

It will physically fit. I think you have to cut the heatsink a little, and you have to run a wire to the fourth lug with +12 on it. Search the net, I read a couple of articles about doing that. It's definitely been done and definitely will work, but it's not a simple plug-in. The CPU will run at (800*(100/133)) MHz.

i will def do a lot more reaserch on it and try to work it out
