Quicktime 7.4 acting strange

I updated to 7.4 yesterday and it has been acting a little strange. Videos off the apple website will load about a tenth and just stop dead and nothing on front row will load at all. I looked at the permissions on my HD like another forum said and a whole load of things popped up...but i read further and found that those are newly found to be common when running 10.5.1 so any information would be lovely....i like my computer to be running perfectly...a bit of a strong pet peeve of mine when there not
