Quicktime and WMP...no sound...

I've been trying to play some files on my computer and for some reason Avi's work fine but my mpeg and my WMV files won't play any sound. Any ideas on how to fix this?

The only way that we can have a clue is that you give a clue. Since you have given zero relevant information about your system, we have not a clue.

Okay it's an imac G5 and it's quicktime 7.0.3 and WMP 9.0

Wow, that sure cleared things up Look, I don't have an iMac G5, but I do have QuickTime 7.0.3 and WMP 9. My audio works fine. Consider the things that you have installed on your computer. Which among them might affect the audio?

If AVIs didn't work I'd recommend opening and then quitting Garageband but as is, I'm baffled.

Do WMV files play back okay with WMP?

When you have one of the problematic files open in QT Player, press Cmd-I to open the Info window, and post back here with the information under "Format".
