Quicktime doesn't work

Quicktime doesn't play movie trailers in my browser, or in iTunes. Instead it loads 'empty' files that play nothing

i've changed my setting so it does not play movies automatically, doesn't save movies in disk cache streame at 56 kbps modem (even though i'm on a T1) and turned instant-on off.

any thoughts?

Try repairing permissions and then maybe try removing the com.apple.quicktime.plugin.preferences.plist preference file. If removing this file doesn't help, put it back in the folder you found it in to keep all your old settings if you want to.
