Hi all, Hoping someone could clarify a recent message we had from a software company.

We use growing Quicktime mov (prores LT) to edit live highlights of sports in premiere.
We use TOOLS ON AIR-JustIn to create the growing files.
They have a new version coming out and sent this message:
'Due Apple’s framework changes and the EOL of QuickTime, we had to switch to the newest framework - AVF - from Apple and this is using a different way of writing the data - segmented writing - and this is working fine with Final Cut Pro, when it comes to growing file. Unfortunately Adobe Premiere is not recognising this at all and it just display the file with 5sec and only at the end of the recording there is an update to the file duration. We are already in contact with Adobe about this. As a workaround we support ProRes in a MXF container and there the growing file works as before, which means same as it did with the last version and mov containers.'

Not sure what this means and if QT is EOL? A google fails to find any hits outside of dropping windows and QT7 support a few tears ago?

Any clarifying would be much appreciated.
Thanks

The app "QuickTime Player 7" and the classic QuickTime Framework, which has been deprecated 10 years ago, are going away. The QuickTime file format (mov) is not going anywhere.

Your issue is that Premiere is crappy and doesn't support newer versions of mov containers.
