QuickTime Player 7 prompt / .mkv files?

I have Perian installed, but when I go to open an .mkv file, I get this message:

Then, upon clicking install...

Has anyone managed to get this to work without using VLC?

Odd, because QuickLook manages to play the file fine...

Same problem

I ran across the same problem, I have tried to use perian but its not supported on Lion. For now I would just use VLC.
