When receiving email with attachment requiring player, unable to play. How can Quicktime be loaded on IPad or how can I open attachment?

You can't. Quicktime is for OS X only and isn't a standalone app for iOS.

It sounds like the format of the video can't currently be played on the iPad due to probably being compressed in a codec that the iPad doesn't support.

Wait and see if VLC gets released. If its anything like the desktop version of the app, it'll play anything.

Hope this helps

...
QuickTime is not an application. QuickTime is the MacOS X set of frameworks for time-based media. The QuickTime Player--whether QuickTime 7, QuickTime Pro, or QuickTime Pro--is merely the most prominent QuickTime-compatible application. The differences between MacOS X and iOS are largely in the UI. The codebases are largely the same--including QuickTime. The QuickTime frameworks allow you to play video on your iPod, iPhone, and iPad.
