This happens fairly frequently to me. Quitting QuickTime and reopening the file always solves it, but eventually it will happen again. This never happens right off the bat. It will be playing, and then I'll drag the slider forwards or backwards and then it just stops playing. I'm not sure if this started with Ventura or happened before too. Anyone else experiencing this? Happens with any aif or mp3 file. The files in question are on the internal SSD.

It sounds like some sort of caching issue. I don't use QTP, but I just tried with a handful of mp3 and m4a files and no problems here. I would try running Onyx' cache cleaning tools to see if that clears this up.

Yeah, I use other players frequently too. It's only QuickTime that this happens with. I'm pretty sure I've already run that Onyx process recently--it's one of the default maintenance tasks (Maintenance > System > Components Cache) . . . I don't see any other reference to "cache" except that one. But I'll try again.
