I just got my air today and everything is fine, but some standard def quicktime files (.mov) that played fine on my mac pro and windows netbook, for some reason play like a slideshow on the 11" air. They play perfectly in VLC however, anyone know why? I would not care but there for a school project... They are rather large for their quality (600mb for 3 min) they were exported from avid...

VideoSpec (I prefer that, though it hasn't been updated since 11/2009), MediaInfo Mac (10/2010) or MediaInfo (10/2010, there is a Mac OS X version to download, VideoSpec and MediaInfo Mac are using the same library as MediaInfo)

Maybe you have to install an Avid video codec, as it seems to be encoded using a DV codec (220MB/min).

Check your CPU usage while the video is acting up under Activity Monitor and post back.

I will try, but I should note HD mkv have been playing fine on my new air, and to the other suggestion, this file played fine on a low end windows 7 laptop without avid of any kind, I played in quicktime for windows. Checking activ monitor now brb...

EDIT: USER 16% SYSTEM 40%. I should also note it plays fine with spacebar preview quciktime... (or is that using vlc?)

Just out of curiosity, could you test the video in one of the applications I linked to and post the report here?
