Card is Asus “R7250X-1GD5-DIS”.
How to get it working with macos?
Could it work easier with older or newer OS?

Right now it looks like this:
(would make a nice background to a desktop though...?)

Device-id is 0x683d?

If yes, it should work until osx 10.10.3. Newer osx need kext-patch because of power-management: Card won't work correct or give no output/screen stays black.

I’ll check the id tomorrow.
but it definetely gives output with 10.14.
As you can see from my capture.

Very good "output"........

You need a patch for full working card, affected is R7 250X/HD7770.

Can you tell how?

Only guide I found is this:
”…now you put this two kext in the Hackintosh bootable usb.”

Do I really need to make a bootable usb for my mac pro?

That guide is 4.5 years old.
is there a newer, streamlined way to do this?

Don't know, i never used this card or kext-patching.

You should ask this question in a hackintosh-community or buy a better supported gpu.

Hackintosh community does not use mac pro much.
Installing something to genuine mac is different than fiddling with hackintosh.

There is no big difference between Hackintosh and MP w/ your videocard; both use unsupported hardware.

You should better ask in a real hackintosh-forum like "tonymacx86.com", netkas-forum is nearly dead since few years and rather hardware-oriented.
I'm sure some patches will also work w/ cMP, i remember some guys used verde.kext for Radeons from 7000-series.
