Radeon 550 - doesn't work? cMP 4,1 > 4,1

Hi all, happy Saturday!
I bought by mistake :-( an MSI Radeon 550 (I though I was buying the 560, lesson to read carefully).
I have a flashed, etc, etc CMP 2009, with a GeForce 640 from mccvid, awaiting nVidia new drives (for ever?).

So in the meantime decided to try the Radeon 560, knowing that I wouldn't get a boot screen.

Well, I got the 550 - read about it, supposedly compatible with Macs - but I can't get it to display anything, either Display Port or DVI-D. I can hear the mac processing (Time Machine on a HDD), but no screen.

Is the 550 NOT compatible - or what else could be going on?

For the NVIDIA 600 and 700 series card s(except the 750 [Ti]) you do not need the webdrivers. They are natively supported. Just install Mojave and you‘ll be fine.

Apart from that it should be poissible to enable the 550 nonetheless, however it would involve disabling SIP and adding the PCI IDs to the appropriate driver.

I do not know which driver is responsible for the Polaris GPUs - should be a quick websearch. Show the contents of that driver doing a right-click in finder and browse to /Contents - there should be a Info.plist file. Make a backup of that and than edit it. TextEdit should be enough. Somewhere in the file are PCI IDs listed, where you could add yours. The PCI IDs are listen in the Systeminformationen under PCI, though they could have a different format. This might work, but maybe troublesome as support cards rely on the Polaris 11 architecture whereas the 550 presumably is Polaris 12.
