Well, AMD is still rolling out Navi, the RX 5600 series should release next week at CES, so I'd expect it to show up for Apple about 6 months after that.

OTOH, if Apple has a lot of Vegas left over, they may not push very hard - historically, they have preferred to put obsolete GPUs in their towers.

It’s gonna be interesting because at some point Navi is going to meet or surpass high end Vega. Will those GPUs get Infinity Fabric? Will Apple replace Vega 2 in the Mac Pro? Could we see a cheaper high end Navi variant or is Apple pretty set on keeping high end performance at a $2500 price?

The W5700X is the next GPU for MacPro7,1 and that has been confirmed by Apple directly on the sales pages for Mac Pro.

The RX 5700 XT drivers were initially released on 10.15.1/10.15.2 and are mostly working fine with eGPU and should be fixed by the time W5700X is officially available.

If the 5900-series cards are not announced in the next few weeks, I really doubt we will see them before April 2020. Add in the usual Apple driver delay and we're probably looking at around WWDC 2020.
