Hey,
can anybody tell me if its possible to take a 6790 videocard from Win-Notebook and place i in a 2011 iMac 27"??
Will the effect be that I have no bootscreen only or what will happen?
Does anybody know a way or description?
Excuse my simple english

You can't take the videocard out of a notebook, for the simple reason that notebooks don't have a videocard. Everything is just soldered.
There are some rare notebooks with a videocard, but the iMac has no connector for it.

I have it in front of me... No doubt and it has the same connector as the old Mac vidcard.

Damn, I've been into Macs for 15 years, repairing, refurbishing and upgrading them and I never noticed that some iMacs had MXM slots.
Anyway, it looks like the card needs to have an Apple firmware or it won't work at all. Guess you can try, it shouldn't hurt.

I normally upgrade Mac Pros here in Germany and iMac is not my business. If you got interesting things for the MP please contact me again
Best Regards,
Franz
