I just received the above card. I bought it from welovemacs.com, but it did not come with any software, CD or drivers, nor installation instructions. I have a Dell 20" wide screen and a new AOC 19" monitor - both hooked up and both working, and both will pivot. I was told by Apple I needed the new card in order to use the pivot function of either monitor. My computer is the G5 tower single processor, 1.8MHz unit with 1.25 GB DDR SDRAM.

According to my "About This Mac" screen, my existing graphics card is:

GeForce FX 5200:

Chipset Model: GeForce FX 5200
Type: Display
Bus: AGP
Slot: AGP
VRAM (Total): 64 MB
Vendor: nVIDIA (0x10de)
Device ID: 0x0321
Revision ID: 0x00b1
ROM Revision: 2060

So, do I install it as an "additional" card in one of the PCI slots, or "in place" of the existing card? Also, do I need to download drivers from ATI, the mfg?

Thanks in advance from anyone who can help.

You need to replace the FX5200 with the Radeon 9800 in the AGP slot. Which version of OS X are you running? I doubt you're going to need to get the drivers from ATI.

I did it about a half hour ago and both monitors work fine, including the pivot action.

Thanks again.

Being a semiretired remodeler I type a lot of Proposals, invoices, letters and my quarterly newsletter, and scrolling gets old after a while. No more though!

Just in case any one is interested, about a week ago I bought the AOC 19" pivot monitor at Offce Max on sale for $230.
