I replaced the power supply with the exact same one for the iMac "Core 2 Extreme" 2.8 24-Inch (mid 2007) and just plugged in the power cord in and the ATI Radeon HD 2600 Pro Video Card went up in smoke. I removed the Video Card and powered up again and got the apple startup chime and the Diagnostic LED lights 1, 2, 3, lit up except #4 which means the LCD display panel in not on. I find it strange that the #3 lit up without a video card. So does anyone know why this would happen?

Don't waste any more $$$ on it.

Time to shop for something new, or at least "newer" ...

I managed to find a new video card and installed it and it worked out great. I think the old video card had a major problem with it and that's why it popped
