MP 1,1-5,1 Radeon Pro WX5100 on Mac Pro 5,1

Hi All,

needs help with get boot screen on Mac Pro 5,1 with Radeon Pro WX5100.

recently upgraded with WX5100 but not getting boot screen.
now here is the twist, previously I was running sapphire hd 7950 mac edition 3GB.
Installed Big Sur and was working fine with boot camp. but after installing new Radeon Pro WX5100 can't see boot screen.
biggest issue is I need to switchover Mac to windows and vise a versa. can't select windows boot after upgrade.

please help me. any help will be appreciated.

Dual X5690 CPU
128GB RAM
500GB SSD.
Radeon Pro WX5100 Graphics Card.

If you really need the boot picker, your only option is to use OpenCore:

Hey tsialex, Thank you for your time.

I have already installed open core. but I can't select windows boot because screen remains black when I power on. after boot chime directly I get open core screen and then it goes to Big Sur boot. no issues with Mac OS boot.
I tried to boot windows from open core boot selection but, as soon as it starts windows give me blue screen with windows boot error.

If I keep in slot 2 with power connectors connected. no display connected to sapphire hd 7950.
I can select by assumption of 18Sec of holding alter key and then blindly select windows by pressing left arrow key.
assuming that there will be a windows icon if I go once left.
even though, I can't see windows boot screen and once windows loaded it shows login screen. but, all this I have to do by assumptions.

I think let me try by clean install and see if that works.

The link below is confirmed working, but BIOS/CSM installs don't work with OpenCore directly so you have use a loader.

For the boot picker not working, it's probably config related or your GPU firmware don't have a valid GOP module. It's better to ask help directly on the OC thread.

your only option is to use OpenCore:

RefindPlus actually provides better support for the boot screen than OC especially for NVIDIA cards.

OC provides more functionality other than the boot screen compared to RefindPlus, so try OC first. Or you can try both:

If you're doing BIOS/CSM boot of Windows, then RefindPlus is probably the way to go (I haven't tried booting Windows recently on my MacPro3,1 though).

What problems can be in the work?
It is supposed to work in Adobe Premiere, After Effects, Photoshop, Davinci Resolve, AVID Media composer.
Will hardware acceleration work in these programs?

Yes It will work. you will need to use OpenCore.
for other applications I am not sure because I don't use them. I use AVID Protools and it works well.
I am not much of a video editing guy, But I use iMovie sometimes and it works well too.

My config :
Xeon 5690 dual processor.
128GB RAM
500GB SSD.
1TB HDD.
Radeon Pro WX5100-Opencore.
Big Sur 11.1
Gigabyte Alpine Ridge Thunderbolt 2 Mac Flashed card.
Audio Interface : Focusrite Clarett 8 PreX Thunderbolt.

You can force your Radeon card to encode/decode h264 and HVEC videos offloading your CPU.
