Radio App on  Watch 4

I have just noticed the radio app on my new watch . I don't remember seing it on my series 0.
Can anyone tell me what it is and how to use it ? Do I need to have to subscribe to  Music to use it ?

It should play Beats 1 radio without a subscription.

With a subscription it give you access to all the genre or artist based stations that Apple Music offers.

This is actually how I usually use Apple Music, by playing a station I have created based on a specific song as a starting point.
