Radio Stream Apps

I am looking into purchasing an app that can stream all my favorite local radio stations as well as any others I might want to listen to while I travel.

I came across two that peaked my interest and was wondering if anyone has d/led them and what your thoughts were on them.

The two I am looking at are:

Wunder Radio (developed by Weather Underground)
ooTunes Radio (developed by Oogli LLC)

I'm pretty happy with vTuner Radio. It plays stations of many genres from all over the world. Worth a look at least.

Pocket Tunes Radio HANDS DOWN. It is definately expensive at $9.99 but you will never need , nor want, another. If you have siriusXM you will be in heaven with this app. TRUSt me here...

I LOVE Wunder Radio, it has all my local stations and a lot of from around the world, which is awesome. It's crisp clear.

It also has police scans, which are pretty funny

I have purchased/downloaded 11 of the radio streaming apps from iTunes. There is only one that does it all and that is ooTunes!

Customer Service far exceeds ANY of the others and if your radio station is not there, then Steve can usually have it there in less then 24 hours if it is authorized.

You will have more choices and options with ooTunes.

If you run out of drive space then you can purchase the additional server program and access your iTunes library from anywhere.

You can listen to your favorite radio station while playing games or using other apps.

And it has everyone of the above posted items included!!!

Has a built in web browser. There is so much, much more.

You can not lose by owning ooTunes!

I had an issue with a stream, within 30 minutes he had it fixed.. money well spent (sometimes you have to spend money)

i have wunder radio and it doesn't always hold a steady stream while driving. i live in los angeles and have a consistent 3G signal. so it's a little disappointing because i bought this mostly to listen in while driving... but i guess this might be more of an AT&T complaint...

WunderRadio has several stations that broadcast Coast to Coast Am. You can actually search for stations by program. It is awesome!

ooTunes has several stations that stream coast to coast am, and I specifically added code to the latest release at the request of a user so that you can listen to the online archives (assuming you have a subscription to do so).

Also, since I just recently responded to a similar thread on another forum, I thought I'd post a link to that here, the verdict between ooTunes and Wunder (as I see it): they cater to different tastes... Wunder has the advantage that they've been around about 6 months longer, ooTunes is relatively recent... both have certainly improved over time... if anyone has suggestions for improving ooTunes, please send them my way, I promise I'll at least respond, and it it's a great idea and feasible, lots of updates still to come!

I have almost all the radio apps, including Wunder Radio, vTuner, Pocket Tunes, Radio, Talk Radio, etc.

(Reading the comments above from SFC, I went ahead and purchased ooTunes, which I didn't have!)

I would say that Wunder Radio is the best, followed closely by Pocket Tunes. To better guide you, would you mind revealing the specific radio stations you are looking for? I can look them up to see if they are listed.

I'm big on talk radio, so I can highly recommend "Talk Radio", which as you can see from the screenshot, mentions C2C specifically.

After tapping on the section, it'll list all the stations they have in their dB, which are streaming C2C at that moment. Some of us get it after midnight, e.g. even though I believe it is live on air at 8 PM EST. That's great if you happen to miss radio talk shows and want to catch a "repeat".

I use Tuner, and it streams a lot of talk radio stations so you can catch things like Coast to Coast AM and Handle On The Law and whatever else you might enjoy tuning into. It was $9.99 when I bought it but I think it is cheaper now.
